Mindfulness

It’s a word we hear a lot these days, but what is it and how can it help you?

Put simply, mindfulness is moment to moment awareness of the now. It is a kind of focus which we can cultivate through meditation and bring into every part of our lives. Becoming more present in this way can help us to stop dwelling in thoughts of the past or worries about the future.

When we are mindful, we sit with both the positive and more challenging aspects of our experience with a sense of compassionate curiosity. This can help us to greet life’s challenges - such as pain or loss - more openly, and avoid the suffering which comes from pushing difficult experiences away.

1:1 sessions

Individual mindfulness sessions can be booked as a one-off or as a regular slot. We will first speak about your needs to design and deliver bespoke practices made especially for you. Additional resources and recordings of the meditations can be provided to support you with your continuing practice.

Eight-week courses

Join an eight-week course which will give you the skills and experience needed to start and maintain an independent mindfulness practice. The course incorporates aspects of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and can be delivered both one-on-one or in groups. Suitable for beginners or those who want to deepen their practice.
